Thank you for considering joining St Petroc’s. We shall be very happy to send you our prospectus, which aims to provide a picture of the life of the school as it really is. We hope that the information will help you to gain a real understanding of the nature and ethos of St Petroc’s.
We are a non-selective school meaning there is no entrance exam and admission is possible at any time throughout the year dependent upon the availability of places. The main point of admission is 4+ into Reception (up to 17 Children). We make sure that our class sizes are small which allows us to dedicate our staff to the children. Bursaries are available and you can find further details of these within the section of our website or by contacting the school office.
We invite all prospective parents to spend a good deal of time at the school, touring the school and meeting the Headmaster. Parents are most welcome to bring their children but they need not imagine that the school will be ‘interviewing’ them. The purpose of the visit is simply that we should meet and get to know each other in a relaxed setting, and that parents should have an opportunity to see the school in action, experience its atmosphere, discuss its educational approach and ask any questions before deciding whether to proceed with registration.
Following this the Headmaster may formally offer a place and parents are requested to complete the Registration form and fee in order to secure the place. A non-refundable deposit is taken at the time of accepting an offer. Before starting the child will be invited to attend a number of familiarisation visits which we hope will be the start of a long and happy journey at St Petroc’s.
For more information on school routines please read our Parents’ Handbook (June 2013).
If you have any questions or would like to arrange a visit to the school please contact the school office on 01288 352876 or by email firstname.lastname@example.org. We very much look forward to welcoming you to St Petroc’s.
