St Petroc's - the small school with big horizons

Welcome to St Petroc’s

Welcome to St Petroc’s School. We celebrate our centenary in 2012 and remain the only independent school in Bude, North Cornwall.

St Petroc’s is ideally located in a quiet residential area on Ocean View Road within only a few hundred metres of the sandy beach at Crooklets and the breath-taking South-West Coastal Path.

St Petroc’s educates children from the age of three months in our Seahorses Nursery to eleven years of age at the end of Key Stage Two.

The school’s aim is to combine all the most important features of a traditional independent education with a friendly, informal approach which provides for the learning needs and interests of all our children and ensures that they achieve their full potential both inside and outside the classroom.

We are extremely proud of the extremely high academic standards that our pupils achieve and the ongoing record of academic, sporting and music scholarships that have been won to senior independent schools.

At St Petroc’s a strong emphasis is placed upon the importance of excellent behaviour, good manners and consideration towards others. Sport is played daily and there is an extensive range of activities from surfing to ballet. Our choir has a strong local reputation, drama is a great strength of the school and the children have the opportunity to learn a wide range of musical instruments.

St Petroc’s produces well-rounded, confident and ambitious young people who go on from strength to strength. Do come and see St Petroc’s in action. You will be sure of a warm welcome.

"In Year 6 I was so excited by activity week that I packed 5 days before it started. "
