Thank you for considering joining St Petroc’s. We shall be very happy to send you our prospectus, which aims to provide a picture of the life of the school.  We hope that the information will help you to gain a real understanding of the nature and ethos of St Petroc’s.

We are a non-selective school meaning there is no entrance exam and admission is possible at any time throughout the year dependent upon the availability of places.  The main point of admission is 4+ into Reception.  We make sure that our class sizes are small which allows us to dedicate our staff to the children. Means-tested bursaries may be available.  Applications are made to the Governors' Finance Committee and rigorous financial forms will need to be presented at this stage.

We invite all prospective parents to spend a good deal of time at the school, looking around and meeting the Headmaster, staff and pupils.  Parents are most welcome to bring their children but they need not imagine that the school will be ‘interviewing’ them.  The purpose of the visit is simply that we should meet and get to know each other in a relaxed setting, and that parents should have an opportunity to see the school in action, experience its atmosphere, discuss its educational approach and ask any questions before deciding whether to proceed with registration.

Following this the Headmaster may formally offer a place and parents are requested to complete the Registration Form in order to secure the place.  Before starting the child will be invited to attend a number of familiarisation visits which we hope will be the start of a long and happy journey at St Petroc’s.
