The Reception Year continues to build upon the Foundation Stage Curriculum, which lays a strong foundation for the child’s education throughout their school life.

 

In the Reception classroom the principles that form the basis of the child’s education are to provide a happy, friendly and stimulating atmosphere where we can motivate and encourage our children in the learning process.

 

By offering a wide range of activities we aim to discover and develop the particular strengths of each child and build upon their independence to explore all curriculum areas.

 

All parents are encouraged to become active participants in their child’s learning. In the Reception Class children are taught individually, in groups and as a class, allowing each individual to fulfil his/her potential, progressing confidently through each stage of learning.

 

Children are admitted to the Reception Class in the academic year of their fifth birthday.
