OPERATION ENCOMPASS

Operation Encompass is a Police and Education early intervention safeguarding partnership which supports children and young people exposed to domestic abuse.

Operation Encompass is the reporting to schools, prior to the start of the next school day, when a child or young person has exposed to, or involved in, any domestic incident.

Our school takes part in the project that is run jointly between schools and Devon and Cornwall Police, whereby the police contact us the day following any incident of domestic abuse where a child is present.

We have members of the school staff, known as Key Adults , who are trained to allow them to liaise with the police and to use the information that has been shared, in confidence, to ensure  that the school is able to make provision for possible difficulties experienced by children, and their families, who have been involved in, or exposed to, a domestic abuse incident.

We are keen to offer the best support possible to all our pupils and we believe Operation Encompass is extremely beneficial for all those involved.
