At St Petroc’s Nursery, autumn is one of our favourite times of year. The leaves are falling, the days feel a little cooler, and it is the perfect season to enjoy cosy storytime together. This term, the children have been enjoying a special collection of books that celebrate the magic of autumn.

Here are our top five autumn favourites:

  1. Because of an Acorn by Adam Schaefer and Lola M. Schaefer

A beautifully illustrated story that shows how something as small as an acorn can grow into an oak and support an entire ecosystem.

  2. The Leaf Thief by Alice Hemming

A funny tale about a little squirrel who panics when he discovers leaves disappearing from his tree. A lovely way to talk about seasonal change.
