News story - St. Petroc's site refocuses on Early Years provision
St Petroc's Early Years on Ocean View Road in Bude is celebrating a successful start to the new academic year, having refocused as an Early Years setting, offering high quality nursery and preschool facilities to children aged 3 months to 4 years.
The Early Years setting is made up of three parts: Little Turtles (0-2 years), Sea Lions (2 – 3 years) and Dolphins (3 – 4 years), and is based in a purpose built eco-friendly building which is warm, light and spacious, and includes access to an inspiring outdoor play area and large playing field.
The setting is led by Early Years Manager Tahira White, who together with over 20 years experience and a friendly, supportive team, continues to guide children through the Early Years Foundation Stage programme, helping children to develop their self-confidence and self-esteem in preparation for school life.
The setting offers extended opening hours (8am to 6pm, 49 per weeks year) as the team tries to be as accommodating as possible for working parents. Breakfast, morning and afternoon snacks are available at no extra cost, and lunch and an optional tea can be provided for a small charge.
Early Years Manager Tahira White, said: “We offer half and full day options, plus free taster sessions so that parents and children can really get a feel for the place before making any decisions. We know that choosing the right setting for your child is a huge decision, and so having the opportunity to meet the staff, the children and familiarise yourselves with the surroundings is the right thing to do”.
Tahira added: “We are able to offer 3 and 4 year old funded childcare places (15 or 30 hours) at St Petroc's to parents and carers that meet the eligibility criteria, plus funded places for 2 year olds whose parents receive certain government support. We have places available now, so urge interested parents to get in touch for an informal chat”.
